I am going to compare both for you and you can make the decession for yourself where you want to start your farm. So lets start with farmtown.

Well lets start with some background of farmtown. It started around Feb-Mar. 09 and took off like wild fire. Currently there are over 13 million active users, not to bad eh. See its not just about the farming, its about the social interaction aspect that so many love. Here is some of the features that farmtown has. First you get to pick your name for you own character. You can pick any name or word you want in farmtown. In farmtown you also upload your own picture as your avatar. And whats cool is when others visit your farm they will see it too. You can also change around your farmtown avatars hair color, skin color, eyes, eybrows, mouth and more. You gain coins and cash by growing and harvesting crops and selling them. So in the begining your crops are pretty small but they grow quickly the more you work them. Now there are some downfalls to farmtown. There are a lot of reported bugs that can cause progress to be lost for members which can be very frustrating. Also the graphics aspect isnt really that great. So I am sure by now if you are not playing farmtown you see why it can be a lot of fun and a good way to relax after hectic days.

Now lets talk about the farmville craze. Yes it launched after farmtown and many accuse farmville makers zynga of stealing developers ideas and gaming designs. As you will see when you start playing farmville that it does resemble farmtown. So how about some stats about farmville. Well the total monthly active users is over 74 million. Ouch! That is way more than farmtown so people are obivously liking farmville more. But why is that? Well farmville offers alot of the same things that farmtown does but there are differences so here are a few, more interaction with your neighbors, more ways to earn money, wide variaty of things to crop, vechicles and ribbons. Also they are constantly running special gifts, changing interaction platform for all the seasons and holidays which is just adding to the fun. So by now you see why farmville is way more popular. Most users agree that the graphics are better, cooler characters, better leveling platform and the biggest thing is there is next to no bugs. That alone is suspected why so many more facebook users use farmville. Also from a quick search I did there seems to be a cooler community for farmville vs farmtown.

So now you have some information on both farmville and farmtown so you can decide which you would rather spend your time growing. I would suggest that even though you have read my artice here to try both of the famous facebook games and decide for yourself.

As a bonus for reading through the whole article I will give you some quick leveling tips for farmtown. With farmtown the higher level you are the more options you will have to open in the game. So you want to advance to higher levels quickly. See you can earn experience points by carrying out a lot of tasks in farm town, but most of these are limited opportunities on a daily basis. So for instance, helping out your neighbors will allow you to build up experience, but once you have exhausted all your resources for the day you'll have to wait till the next day. Also planting and harvesting crops offer you some experience benefits, but once your land is all planted then you will have to wait untill your crops mature and you harvest them to expand your farm. So a great way to accumulate experience points is to buy decorations. This also makes your farm look good too. Of course you will have to have the money to buy these decorations. There are so many decorations in the store that you should really look around and compare how many experience points you get from each. It tells you right next to the decorations.
